On the Trail: Bennett Hits the Christmas Parade
There's nothing quite like a small-town Christmas parade, and Waller County doesn't disappoint.
This weekend, our campaign truck rolled through the parade decked out in lights and campaign signs, and we had a blast meeting families along the route. I shook hands, waved to kids, and got to talk with voters who had questions about the County Court at Law No. 1 race.
One of the things that makes running for office in a community like Waller County so special is that the people you're asking to vote for you are the same people you see at the grocery store, at church, and yes, at the Christmas parade. This isn't some distant, impersonal election. These are our neighbors.
A few things stood out from the evening:
The number of people who stopped to ask what County Court at Law No. 1 actually does was a great reminder of why voter education matters. This court handles family law, misdemeanors, civil disputes, probate, and juvenile cases. These decisions directly affect Waller County families.
We also met a lot of young families who are new to the area, folks who moved to Waller County for the space, the schools, and the quality of life. They care deeply about having a fair and efficient court system, even if they haven't thought much about judicial races before. That's exactly who this campaign is trying to reach.
Thank you to everyone who came out, waved, honked, and showed support. And a huge thank you to our volunteers who helped put the truck together and worked the parade route. This campaign runs on people power, and we're grateful.
